Camilo Tuero, born and raised in Lima, Peru, is a family of artists, which set the stage for his future in tattoo artistry. At 15, he first encountered tattoos, and a year later, he moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, to live with his brother, a graphic designer. In Buenos Aires, Camilo immersed himself in the world of tattoos, working in various studios and learning from different artists to develop his distinctive technique. His unique approach focuses on hand movement, pressure, and ink injection, understanding the complexity of tattooing as an art form that must consider the delicacy and variability of the skin.
Camilo’s dedication and hard work earned him numerous awards at conventions across South America, and he shared his expertise through workshops for fellow tattoo artists. In 2011, he moved to Brazil to further his artistic journey, opening Monsters House Tattoo in São Paulo a year later. His talent quickly garnered media attention, leading to numerous TV appearances and magazine features, and he became a sought-after tattooist for celebrities and models. In 2023, Camilo joined Inknation Studio NYC as a resident artist, invited by his friends and colleagues Zhimpa and Darwin. His addition to the team has been met with excitement, as his talent continues to leave a lasting impact.
