Raised between Ireland and Spain, Charles achieved success as a businessman and entrepreneur at the age of twenty-one. However, the 2008 economic crisis led to a significant setback, causing him to reassess his life. Looking for a fresh start and a different career approach, he focused on what he truly enjoyed and could turn into a sustainable and fulfilling livelihood. Charles asked, “What did I ever do for fun that could be of value to make a living?” The resounding response was – painting.
Despite initial challenges and no sales of his oil paintings, Charles redirected his focus to his friends’ tattoos. Initially approached to sketch designs, he soon found his art permanently etched onto their skin. The powerful concept of people choosing to showcase his art on their bodies sparked a journey for Charles.
Since 2008, Charles has received over 53 Internationally Renowned Prizes & Awards for his excellence in the field of tattooing. These awards have been presented at prestigious industry events, Tattoo Conventions, and Tattoo Festivals worldwide.
Charles has left his mark on the best tattoo studios globally, including Love-Hate by Ami James (Ireland), Freedom Tattoo (Hong Kong), Utopian Tattoo Tribe (Ireland and Spain), Soul Addiction (Ireland), and Andy Engel Tattoo (Germany), among others.
In recent years, Charles has been invited by fellow artists to share his expertise at tattoo events and conduct seminars on his innovative tattooing techniques. Participation is limited to established artists who must submit their portfolios for approval.
Today, individuals from across the globe travel to attend Charles’s seminars. His clientele includes NFL and NBA players, renowned singers, DJs, and various other celebrities, solidifying his status as a sought-after and respected tattoo artist.
