Goethe Silva is a renowned tattoo artist originally from Durango, Mexico, with over 30 years of experience. His journey began as a punk rock enthusiast, where his passion for tattoos was ignited after an unsatisfactory experience led him to create his first tattoo using a homemade machine on his father. Silva opened his first tattoo studio, Deadline Tattoo, in Durango in 1993, later establishing the first legally recognized studio in Aguascalientes, Mexico. His work is deeply influenced by his heritage, specializing in pre-Hispanic imagery, particularly Aztec and Mayan iconography.
Silva’s career has taken him to the United States, where he worked in prominent studios in San Diego and Los Angeles, including “Church of Steel” and “Por Vida Tattoo.” Over the years, his reputation grew, earning him awards at conventions and features in tattoo magazines. Today, Silva continues to tattoo at Collective Ink Gallery in Garden Grove, California, while also pursuing his passion for sculpture and mixed media art in his private Los Angeles studio
