Robert Atkinson, born in 1969 in Los Angeles, began his artistic journey airbrushing t-shirts. His friends bought him his first tattoo kit in 1992, sparking his passion for tattooing. After honing his skills, Robert started at Melrose Tattoo before moving to Europe to work at Royal Tattoo in Denmark and later at Dragon Tattoo in Eindhoven, Holland. There, he developed his signature Western Oriental style, focusing on intricate designs that fit the body naturally.
Returning to Los Angeles in 2001, Robert collaborated with Jojo Ackermann to open 10,000 Waves Tattoo Gallery in 2014. Known for his Japanese-inspired large-scale tattoos, Robert works closely with clients to create designs that appear as if they were born with them. Besides tattooing, he has a unique shoe project, crafting over 350 handmade, one-of-a-kind pairs since 2006, showcasing his creativity beyond the tattoo world
